Read more…The Legend of the Marvelous Land (Russian: Легенда о заповедном крае) by Marta Dalgor is my first experience as a translator. The task was to translate the book as close to the original text in Russian as possible. No cutting corners and no loose translation was acceptable. Luckily, I was able to get in touch with the author every time I needed some additional information about a character or a particular situation in the book in order not to miss any nuance in the English translation.
